Tūn Brewing Company wins four Great Taste 2026 awards

CHORLTON, MANCHESTER - Tūn Brewing Company has been named among the top food and drink producers globally this year after securing four accolades at Great Taste 2026.

Archetype received a Great Taste 2-star award, meaning judges rated it 'outstanding'. Gem State of Mind, Lemondrop and Quaternity each received a Great Taste 1-star award and were recognised as 'simply delicious'.

More than 15,000 products were put through the competition's rigorous blind judging process. Of these, 4,286 received one star, 1,596 received two stars and 306 received three stars. In total, 6,188 products - 41.15% of all entries - received a Great Taste award in 2026.

Richard Alston, Founder of Tūn Brewing Company, said:

"I'm thrilled to announce that we won several Great Taste Awards this year. This is a huge achievement and reflects the hard work that has gone into creating great-tasting beer here at Tūn over the past two years; I'm super proud!

Onwards and upwards!"

Each Great Taste award is valid for three years and may be displayed on the exact winning product until the Great Taste 2029 results are released.

John Farrand, managing director, Guild of Fine Food, comments: "Food security is becoming an increasingly pressing issue across the globe, so it feels more pertinent now than at any other time in our thirty-year history to be supporting and promoting independent producers and retailers. Our directory of award recipients is a rich source of data, guiding people from all walks of life to make informed decisions about their food and drink choices. Great Taste is all about celebrating craftsmanship and dedication to well-sourced local ingredients and traditional, often simple production methods, which is more important now than ever."

What is Great Taste?

Recognised as a stamp of excellence and actively sought out by food lovers and retailers alike, the Great Taste accreditation scheme, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, values taste above all else. Each product is blind-tasted, with all packaging removed, and undergoes a robust, layered judging process. In 2026, judging took place over 105 days, with more than 800 judges assessing products submitted from 116 countries.

The Great Taste logo is recognised by 58% of the UK adult population. Of those adults, 74% say a Great Taste award makes a product more tempting, 73% say the logo is a trustworthy recommendation and 54% use Great Taste as a signpost for discovering new products (YouGov, December 2025).
