Women in Beer is proud to announce that its founder, Amélie Tassin, has been named the Diversity and Inclusivity Champion at this year’s Brewers Choice Awards, held on 30th September at Big Penny Social in London.
The Brewers Choice Awards celebrate excellence across the UK beer industry, recognising individuals and organisations driving innovation, community, and quality. Amélie’s award highlights her outstanding contribution to advancing equality, representation, and inclusion within the brewing sector — values at the heart of Women in Beer since its founding.
This year’s judging panel brought together a wealth of expertise from across the beer community, including Lotte Peplow (Craft Beer Ambassador in Europe for the Brewers Association), Chris Lewington (Founder, Brew Resourceful), Stuart Anderson (Founder, Ghost Whale), and Alex Greig (Owner, Fuggles Beer Cafe, Tunbridge Wells & Tonbridge).
They were joined by Jake Milne (Mikkeller Location Manager), Stu McKinlay (Founder, Liquid Sky Drinks), Sean Robertson (Freelance Beverage and Hospitality Consultant), Roger Molyneux (Pub Landlord and On-Trade Champion), and Paul Davies (Founder, AleHunters Brewery Tours). The session was chaired by Tim Sheahan, Editor of The Brewers Journal.
Speaking about her award win, Amélie commented: “I am extremely grateful to the judges for this award - it means the world to me! Women in Beer is a passion project, a community that has been part of my life for a long time, and I’m so grateful the work I have done for it is being recognised. Working on this kind of project is often thankless and winning an award will definitely keep me going!”. “The work we’re doing with Women in Beer is important and I am very happy to see that we’re supported by leaders in the beer industry.”, she continued.
Amélie’s recognition underscores the growing movement towards creating a more inclusive and diverse brewing community — a mission that continues through initiatives such as the Women in Beer Awards, which will take place for the first time later this month.
The inaugural Women in Beer Awards will be held at Eko Brewery, London, on 28th October 2025. The awards celebrate women’s achievements across all facets of the beer and hospitality industries. The shortlist is now live at womeninbeer.co.uk/awards, and tickets are available via Citizen Ticket.
