London, (November 2017) Due to popular demand, Goose Island Beer Company is set to bring one of the world’s most sought-after beers to UK shores this Black Friday. Traditionally launched in the US on Black Friday – the day after Thanksgiving – the rare 14.1% ABV 2017 Bourbon County Brand Stout.
Brewed and then aged in bourbon barrels for between eight to twelve months, Bourbon County Brand Stout was first created in honour of the 1000th batch of Goose Island’s original Clybourn Brewpub in Chicago. One sip has more flavour than your average case of beer. Once the bottle shop doors open, the sought-after imperial stout stock is predicted to sell out in under three hours.
Goose Island brewers say that the bourbon barrels give the dark beer charred oak and vanilla scents, with notes of chocolate, caramel and a hint of smoke.
Goose Island Principal Brewmaster Jared Jankoski said; “We’re really excited to be bringing Bourbon County Brand Stout to the UK again. It had such a great reception last year. The 2017 edition is deliciously smooth, with notes of vanilla and chocolate which gets more noticeable with every sip. We hope you enjoy this year’s 2017 variant as much as we’ve enjoyed brewing and of course, tasting it!”
The first-ever UK Bourbon County Brand Stout launched in 2016 and the limited 100 bottle release sold out in under one hour, which equates to 862mls of the rare beer sold per minute or 14mls sold per second. The release also generated a foot-fall of beer fans, who patiently queued round the block to get their hands on this highly sought-after brew.
2017 Bourbon County Brand Stout variant will be available to buy on Black Friday, 24 November 2017, at Ghost Whale in Brixton, Kill The Cat in Shoreditch and on beerhawk.co.uk, whilst stocks last for a RRP of £20 from 11.00 AM GMT. Craft Beer & Indian restaurant Bundobust in Leeds and Manchester will also be serving a Bourbon Country Brand Stout dessert pairing, available for a RRP of £25 from 18:00 PM GMT.
Beer fanatics will also have the opportunity to attend a UK exclusive Bourbon County Brand Stout 2017 barrel tapping at the Goose Island Tap House in Balham this Black Friday, 24 November at 8pm.
