Winner John Stooke was recognised for his book Last Orders, a history of pubs in Swindon.
Judges commented that the self-published book by “historian and lifelong, proud Swindon resident John Stooke [was] painstakingly researched over four years and [tells] this history of 120 pubs in Swindon, from 1700 to the (pre-COVID) present.”
