Strategic Social Media: More Results from Your Online Time
Presented by Adam Tinworth
Over the past 15 years, social media has become an essential part of the journalist and comms professional’s toolbox. However, that doesn’t mean it’s always easy or comfortable — or even that it’s clear you’re getting value from your time there. This workshop will help you figure out where and how to focus your time on social media to get better for your work.
Participants will learn:
- How further develop a compelling presence on social media
- How to choose which platforms to focus on
- The different roles social can play in your work
- How to avoid some of the biggest pitfalls
- An understanding of how current social media algorithms work
- How to experiment with and assess emerging platforms
The session will be recorded, and made available to participants afterwards, and attendees are invited to submit questions in advance.
Course moderator
Adam Tinworth started his professional career in the 90s on the much-missed Publican, spending four years in hospitality journalism, before leaving for the bright lights and endless glamour of commercial property journalism. In the decades since, he’s become a consultant and trainer in the field of audience engagement, both through courses like this, and through lecturing at City, University of London, where his former students now run social or audience at publications as diverse as Metro, The Independent, The Telegraph and the New Statesman.
