A Weekend of ‘Festive Cheer’ at Woodforde’s

–       Brewery opens its doors on December 6th and 7th.

In preparation for the festive period, Woodforde’s Norfolk Ales will be offering the opportunity for members of the public to look behind-the-scenes as it opens its brewery doors on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December 2014, for a weekend of beer and wine tastings, brewery tours and Christmas gift inspiration from local food and drink producers.
The free annual event is Woodforde’s largest ever brewery open weekend providing the opportunity for visitors to sample some of Woodforde’s Christmas products including its festive brew Tinsel Toes, NOG Christmas puddings and a limited edition adaptation of 1929 Steward and Pateson recipe, Norfolk NIP.

In addition the Christmas market stalls will also showcase some of the region’s finest produce from wines to cordials, to ciders, and to a variety of different foods from an abundance of local producers including Mrs Temple’s Cheese, Corkers Crisps, Yare Valley Oils, Ronaldo’s Ice Cream, Norfolk Cordial and many, many more.

Rupert Farquharson, managing director for Woodforde’s, comments:
“We feel it is extremely important to support and promote other businesses who champion the use of local ingredients in their produce, as do we. Our Brewery Open Weekend is the perfect opportunity to us to showcase exactly what Norfolk has to offer and of course tick a few things off the Christmas present list too.”

Guided brewery tours will be available throughout the weekend led by head brewer Neil Bain for visitors to learn about the art of crafting Woodforde’s fine selection of ales, and give insight into why the brewery was recently crowned The Good Pub Guide’s ‘Brewery of the Year’ – all free of charge.

Local choirs will be carol singing to get everyone in the festive mood. Plus Woodforde’s brewery tap, The Fur and Feather, will be open as usual offering hearty meals as well as a delicious hog roast so visitors can really rest their weary feet after all that shopping!
