Chester based pub company, Admiral Taverns announced its partnership with Claire House last year. This year is the second year in a row that Admiral Taverns have organised a charity walk to give the charity a further funding boost, with over £100,000 being raised so far. £100K has been raised cumulatively for Claire House with pub fun days and other events from the past year.
Admiral Taverns staff and their friends and families were joined by Claire House representatives on Saturday, May 16th. Participants began the walk at 10am from Flint Castle and finished up with celebratory drinks at the Little Oak in Boughton.
Chris Jowsey, CEO of Admiral Taverns, said: “It was inspiring to see so many people come together on Saturday, and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.
“The charity walk was a real success, and our total raised for Claire House is now over £103,198. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us up to this point. From those who walked alongside us, to those who donated, cheered us on, or came together with us at the finish, every contribution has been valued and appreciated. It’s fantastic to see the team pulling together to fundraise for a charity that go above and beyond to help children and their families get through some of the toughest moments in their lives. The level of support we have received has been amazing, and we are so thankful to everyone who helped make the day so meaningful.”
Lewis Croft, Corporate Fundraiser at Claire House, added: “Claire House Children’s Hospice is able to continue its work thanks to the generosity of our local community and the backing of fantastic organisations such as Admiral Taverns, so we’re thrilled to have them as our charity partner.
“Admiral Taverns play a hugely important role in helping us continue to provide care and support to seriously and terminally ill children, as well as the families who depend on us.
“We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to be part of the event.”
Adam and Lisa Pickett, licensee at the Little Oak in Boughton, commented: “It was a real privilege for us at the Little Oak to welcome everyone at the end of the walk and be part of such a special day.
“As a pub at the heart of the local community, it meant a lot to us to be able to host everyone and help bring people together for such an important cause. The support shown throughout the day was amazing, and it was clear just how much this charity means to so many people.”
