Last year, sales of Rosey Nosey grew by 13 per cent compared to those in 2012, while orders from supermarkets increase by a staggering 50 per cent. Since 2009, the beer’s sales have grown by 22.9 per cent per year, with more than double the amount sold in 2013 as there was in 2009. For 2014, Batemans is aiming to increase total orders of both cask and bottle, with export sales expected to be a key contributor.
Although only available by cask for less than a week, Batemans is already seeing extremely high demand for Rosey Nosey. Demonstrating the worldwide appeal of the seasonal beer, Batemans has shipped 120 barrels (the equivalent of 4,900 cases) of Rosey Nosey to US air force bases across the globe, including those in Korea, Okinawa, Japan and Europe. Batemans brewed a 6% ABV version of Rosey Nosey exclusively for these soldiers, who wanted to enjoy a festive treat while away from home.

Rosey Nosey is a 4.9% ABV dark amber ale, full of rich, fruity, sultana and raisin flavours fused with crunchy pale, crystal and chocolate Norfolk malts, using Challenger and Goldings hops. Batemans was the first brewer to create a pump clip using flashing lights, which are placed on Santa’s nose and have made the pump clip almost as legendary as the beer itself.
