Thursday 5th November – Lockdown 2.0h is here and to comfort beer fans, Beavertown is bringing back core classics 8Ball Rye IPA, Black Betty Black IPA and Smog Rocket Smoked Porter. The three familiar favourites are the perfect hibernation tipple to get through this November, with each one containing wonderfully rich winter notes of either nuts, spices, liquorice or smoky flavours.
Two of Beavertown’s earliest beers, 8Ball Rye and Smog Rocket Smoked Porter are perfect for the darker winter months. A nod to the OG craft IPA’s of the U.S, 8Ball Rye is spicy and nutty thanks to its Red Rye Crystal Malt, ideally matched with Caragold for a full on flavour. Escape the winter greys with its distinctive Nevada dessert red colouring, revealing zesty Motueka and Citra, Simcoe, Amarillo and Galaxy hops. A wild blend of tropical, malt and spicy aromas flawlessly finished with a bitter IPA bite, it brings a taste of the U.S to you this lockdown.
Smog Rocket Smoked Porter, on the other hand, was inspired by London’s Industrial Revolution. The 5.4% Porter is an original homebrew recipe using nine different malts with a big-hitting taste of molasses, smoked hickory wood, raisins and caramel. A mouthwatering brew, its smoky aromas will have beer fans reminiscent of the smokestacks of industrial London.
Finally, an old school sweet inspired treat for the winter months, Black Betty Black IPA has drinkers dreaming of classic childhood ‘Black Jacks & Fruit Salads’ sweets. Roasted coffee and liquorice are washed over with the tropical grapefruit and mango aromas of its Pacific west coast hops. Its Carafa malts from Germany provide its distinctive dark colour and roastyness with minimal bitterness and for an even bigger hit of nostalgia, Beavertown has brought back the original, cult Black Betty design. The only one of its original core cans to use a lino-cut process to create the artwork.
