Beer artwork by Laura Watson

Beer is art. Quite literally in this case. In her recent piece, “Norwich Beer Market”, Laura has merged her love of art with her work in beer.

“It all started with an urge to stray away from animal portraiture and try out new subjects.

“Rooting through my neglected camera roll, I spotted a photo taken in The Garnet Pub in Norwich. It was from a Lacon’s Brewery beer tasting with Adrian Tierney-Jones, as part of Norwich City of Ale 2018.

“The colourful market rooftops, the pint glass as a focal point, and the fond memories of Norwich, all pulled me in to recreating the setting.

“So far, I’ve enjoyed learning how to interpret the many interesting colours and unusual shapes that come from portraying beer in a glass or a can. A technique I’m keen to carry on developing in future pieces.”

“Norwich Beer Market” is available from: Art Eat Festival | Art Shop | Buy Art Online – a can of craft beer bought from The Garnet will be included with each print.
