Bombardier Burning Gold becomes the beer for BBQs as Charles Wells joins forces with National BBQ week

Bombardier Burning Gold, from independent brewer Charles Wells, will be a summer favourite this year as the official beer of National BBQ Week.

Created in 1997, when the Barbi cry was, ‘if it ain’t burnt, it ain’t BBQ’, the National BBQ Week campaign, which this year runs from 30 May – 5 June, has been at the forefront of not only educating consumers on the benefits and taste of Better BBQ’ing, but also in developing the BBQ market from around 9 million BBQ occasions 20 years ago to just over 130 million occasions in 2015, and leading a trend from a burnt burger in a bap to today’s gastro grilling.

Brian George, Grill Master and Founder of National BBQ Week is delighted Bombardier will help the campaign: “Beer and BBQ’s are a perfect match, so we’re delighted to be able to welcome Bombardier Burning Gold into our 20th National BBQ Week campaign as the Official BBQ Beer. Created originally in 1997 National BBQ Week runs this from May 30 – June 5 and has been at the forefront of developing the BBQ market and changing consumer’s attitudes towards barbecuing. With Bombardier Burning Gold, we feel that we have found the ideal BBQ beer to enjoy at any Barbi occasion whether large or small.

Sarah Mahoney, Customer Marketing Manager, at Charles Wells adds: “A great BBQ needs a great beer and Bombardier Burning Gold and Bombardier Glorious English offer exactly that. Complimenting BBQ food perfectly, these beers go great with a flame-grilled steak, or lamb kebab. Whether you go for bottle or can these brews offer the crisp freshness you need in the summer months, with the depth of flavour that makes British beer the envy of the world.
