Brew York Levels Up Halloween with a Horror-Gaming Beer Trilogy

ree

This Halloween, Brew York is hitting start on its most daring release yet: Brewcade – a limited-edition trilogy of beers inspired by classic horror video games. Paying homage to legendary titles Doom, Resident Evil, and The Last of Us, Brewcade invites fans of craft beer and gaming alike to step into a dark, flavour-packed world of spine-tingling brews.

Each beer has been brewed to capture the immersive, unsettling atmosphere of these iconic games, with flavours as bold and twisted as the worlds that inspired them:

Protocol – Pumpkin Spiced Stout (4.9%)Inspired by Resident Evil, Protocol is a dark, atmospheric stout layered with roasted malt and autumnal spices of cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Smooth yet sinister, it’s best enjoyed with the lights off – and perhaps a little caution.

Hellfire – Cherry & Rhubarb Pie Sour (6.0%)Inspired by Doom, Hellfire channels the game’s relentless energy into a fiery explosion of tart cherry and rhubarb, rounded with a biscuity pastry finish. Sweet, sharp, and devilishly drinkable – it’s a scorched slice of dessert straight from the underworld.

Remnant – NEIPA (5.2%)Inspired by The Last of Us, Remnant is a hazy journey through wild, overgrown landscapes. Bursting with Hallertau Blanc and Nelson Sauvin for white grape and gooseberry brightness, alongside Huell Melon and Strata for honeydew, tropical citrus, and dank undertones. Soft-bodied and juicy, it mirrors the bittersweet beauty and chaos of a world reclaimed by nature.

But the Brewcade experience doesn’t end with the beers. Fans can level up with an exclusive Brewcade glass and limited-edition T-shirt – designed for those who want to wear their love of horror and craft beer on their sleeve.

Yousef Doubooni, Sales & Marketing Director at Brew York, said:"Halloween is always one of our favourite times of year, and Brewcade is the perfect way to bring together two things we love – craft beer and gaming culture. Each beer has its own story, its own atmosphere, and its own sense of danger. We can’t wait for drinkers to experience the full Brewcade lineup this spooky season."

Pre-orders on the Brewcade beers will begin on 15th September 2025 on the Brew York website, and these will be shipped from Wednesday 18th September. Stocks are strictly limited – and once they’re gone, they’re gone. Don’t miss your chance to play the ultimate Halloween level: Brewcade.

About

Brew York was founded in 2016 by friends Wayne Smith and Lee Grabham. Starting in 2016, as many other craft breweries were beginning their journey, creating Brew York was the realisation of a long-lived dream to build a brewery in York’s bustling centre with a popular on-site Tap Room, creating a destination where it felt welcoming and inviting to enjoy the beer (and other drinks) right next to the tanks they were brewed in.

All Brew York’s beer is brewed in York, some in their original city centre brewhouse, and now a lot of the beer is brewed 10 minutes up the road in their state-of-the-art production facility in Osbaldwick.
