Brewery gives beer discounts to young people registering to vote today, National Voter Registration Day

See images

Northern brewery Northern Monk is encouraging young people to register to vote on today’s National Voter Registration Day by offering 50% off pints of their core range of beer. If people can show they’ve registered, they’re eligible – simple as that. Customers can also scan QR codes on t-shirts worn by the staff to register to vote.

“At Northern Monk we know how important it is to make your voice heard,” said Ciaran Shier, Positive Impact Director at Northern Monk. “Nearly half of all 18-34s didn’t vote in the last election – that’s around 6 million people not having their say. We’re encouraging people to register to vote today ahead of the local and national elections this year so more people can speak up and be represented. And we’re doing it in the way we know how – with beer.”

People can head to Northern Monk’s Refectory taprooms in Leeds or Manchester, or The Northern Market Leeds, to take advantage of the offer.
