CALLOW RUSCOE – A NEW FULHAM BOTTLE SHOP LAUNCH FEBRUARY 16TH

South West London takes further steps to keep up with the burgeoning craft beer scene across London and the UK with the launch of a brand beer shop and bar space in Fulham ‘Callow Ruscoe’. With over 200 of the best beers, wines and ciders to drink in or take home, there will be a focus on unique and exciting experiences with some of the most remarkable names in the industry. The extensive product selection is firmly international and displays many award-winning products, such as Siren, Verdant, Wild Beer, Stillwater, Burnt Mill, De Molen and Brekeriet. Hidden gems of underappreciated and developing markets will be showcased alongside a commitment to provide the best choice of French beer in London.

On February 16th, the shop officially launches  with a day-long celebration. The following events will take place on that date, with more to potentially be announced:

  • We will open some of our favourite beers during the whole day and hand out some French cheese from our great next-door neighbours Chateroy.
  •  3pm-5pm: Beer Launch with Burnt Mill! Sean, from the brewery, will be in attendance to give samples of their new Hazy IPA. Burnt Mill were awarded “RateBeer Best New UK Brewery Award” in 2017 – they have only got better since then, further burnishing their strong reputation. This will be a special one as Burnt Mill rarely launches products in London.
  •  7pm-9pm: Trappist Bottle Share Alex, our shop manager, will present a vertical tasting of aged Orval bottles, ranging from January 2017 to the most recent batch. It will be compared with other Trappist beers such as Mount Saint Bernard’s ‘Tynt Meadow’ (UK) and ‘Spencer’ (US).

Callow Ruscoe,

A focus on beer writing and community a significant part of the efforts and experiences surrounding the shop will be focused on supporting beer education and beer writing. These will include free beer classes and collaborative in-shop displays presenting beer selections from industry-leading writers. Furthermore, support will be provided to the London writing community by organising writers’ meetups, talks and unique events. The space will be made available for hosting podcasts and tastings as well as commissioned articles for various destinations including the shop blog, due to launch on https://www.callowruscoe.com/ later this year.

To further enhance this focus, we will provide a discount for members of the British Guild of Beer Writers to support the burgeoning scene in the UK!
