Our international and highly respected judging panel has identified the best beers in each of the eight categories of the annual World Beer Awards. With over 1900 beers from more than 40 countries entered into this year’s awards, judges blind tasted and scored the entries over three rounds of judging. The final round was held in London, where 90 international brewers, industry experts and journalists tasted and voted on the World’s Best Beers before the 2017 Country & Style Winners were announced.
Adrian Tierney-Jones, Global Chairman of the World Beer Awards said: “Once again the World Beer Awards have produced a fascinating roster of winners. I’m particularly excited by the fact that the World’s Best Sour comes from Germany, a country that has a long tradition of producing tart and refreshing beers such as Berliner Weiss and Gose. I’m also excited for Hook Norton, a great brewery with a wonderful heritage, who show that they can teach the new generation of brewers something about producing different styles of beers. All in all, a great list of beers and I look forward to tasting them again at the World Beer Awards Grand Tasting in November.
