Tate Modern will be kicking off 2020 with a brand-new line up of Tap Takeovers. First up will be Manchester based brewery Cloudwater Brew Co, who will be welcomed to the Terrace Bar on January 30th.
Founded in 2014, Cloudwater Brew Co is devoted to offering bold, precise flavours through a range of evolving and one-off seasonal beers. They employ the passion, skills, dreams and experience of their team and harness up-to-the-minute brewing science and techniques.
On the evening, guests will be able to taste six of their delicious craft brews, all ranging in ABV and style.
From DIPA, a bold juicy Double IPA which is a hazy, heavily-hopped and deceptively drinkable strong IPA to the Light Lager which provides serious drinkability without compromising on flavour, guests will be able to try the best of what the brewery has to offer.
Those taking part in Dry January will be thrilled to hear that Cloudwater Brew Co will be bringing along their Cloudwater Soda range which takes delicious ingredients and flavour combinations from the brewery and makes low-calorie sodas with all the flavour of craft, but none of the alcohol. The Terrace Bar will also be serving up a delicious menu of tasty street food to go with the beers, available with a
meal deal ticket.
Cloudwater Brew Co will also be available to talk to on the night for an exclusive insight into their independent brewery, as well as providing a chance to learn more about their beers and the brewing process. The brewery will be also be showcasing their flag artwork which will be installed in the Terrace Bar.
BEERS AVAILABLE:
Pale 4%
The season-long Pale Ale is a beer for everyday moments, whether it’s conversation with friends or quiet relaxation after work, and aims to provide balance between bold flavour and easy drinkability. It’s full of rounded tropical fruit flavours with a soft juicy finish and low bitterness.
DIPA 8.5%
The Double IPA is a style Cloudwater Brew Co has become synonymous with, and this bold, juicy DIPA showcases their favourite hops, yeast and brewing processes. Whilst its roots stretch back to a full team West Coast beer tasting in September 2015, and their scene-changing V series, it is significantly different to the IIPAs that originally inspired them and acts as an ever-evolving representation of a hazy, heavily-hopped and deceptively drinkable strong IPA.
DDH Pale 5.5%
The Double Dry Hopped Pale is brewed to soup up your down time by delivering the hop flavour intensity of the DIPAs at a moderate ABV. Doubling the standard Pale Ale’s dry-hopping rate of 8g/L, this beer upturns industry norms where double more often means twice, and delivers a bold, juicy, hazy, and heavily-hopped Pale Ale. Out of the hoppy beer range, this sets the marker for balance between drinkability and flavour impact.
A Name For Everything 7.4%
Aroma & Flavour: Big hit of passion fruit, followed by a Buck’s Fizz character and a mouth-puckering sourness. Body: Medium to full-bodied, smooth and juicy. Aftertaste: Lingering notes of fresh passion fruit
It Is 6.5%
Aroma & Flavour: Soft, overripe papaya and nectarine, followed by honeydew melon, bright orange zest and bold, resinous hop notes. Body: Full-bodied, smooth and juicy. Aftertaste: Resinous hop notes and orange zest linger, underpinned by light, juicy nectarine.
Light Lager 3.9%
The Light Lager is designed for ease of enjoyment, providing serious drinkability without compromising on flavour. It’s brewed to be thirst-quenching, crisp and dry, combining a subtle lemon and herbal hop character with light sweetness and a pronounced, lasting malt character.
