Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer has launched a handcrafted bold, ginger IPA blend in collaboration with Black Country craft brewer, Sadler’s – the first beer in the unconventional Crabbie’s Crafty Ginger Collection.
The innovative blend is a nod to John Crabbie – who was famed for his adventurous drinks recipes – and combines iconic Crabbie’s spices with hoppy Sadler’s Red IPA, resulting in a bold, warming craft blend.
Crabbie’s has a deliciously spicy flavour from fresh ginger root, which is steeped for up to six weeks before the master tasters give it the Crabbie’s stamp of approval.
Sadler’s Red IPA is brewed with American and Australian hops and has a citrus, passion fruit and mango aroma and the combination of this, with Crabbie’s, results in the deep fruity flavour of the IPA hops standing up brilliantly to the fiery flavour of ginger.

Crabbie’s IPA is the first of several planned new innovative additions to the Crabbie’s range, with Crabbie’s Stout also recently launched.
The root of Crabbie’s Ginger Beer’s distinctive fiery taste dates back to 1801 in Leith, Edinburgh, where the array of ingredients and spices were coming into the port from the Far East. Inspired by this, John Crabbie began creating his legendary blends; establishing himself as a drinks pioneer across Scotland. Steeped for up to six weeks, before it gets the Crabbie’s stamp of approval, Crabbie’s boasts a deliciously spicy flavour from its fresh ginger root.
Crabbie’s IPA has an ABV of 4.7% and is available from Tesco and Ocado, £1.65 for 500 ml.
