Euroboozer launches Stiegl Hell lager in the UK

Following the triumphant success of Stiegl Goldbräu, another lager from the Austrian brewery has been introduced to the UK. Exclusively distributed by Euroboozer, Stiegl Hell was initially launched in Austria in 2020, met with huge success, adding incremental volume to Stiegl’s market share, quickly becoming a key feature of the brewery’s core portfolio.

Until now, a very limited amount of Stiegl Hell cans have been available in the UK as part of special promotions and Euroboozer Pre-Sales, but now the beer is now permanently available both on draught and in 500ml bottles.

With Stiegl Goldbräu already a firm favourite in some of the UK’s best restaurants, hotels, bars, pubs, and hospitality venues – selling in excess of a million pints a year in the UK on-trade for the past few years – Stiegl Hell will initially be available on draught from Frontier pubs sites around London, as well as Bonehead in Birmingham and Junkyard in Nottingham. Beers of Europe will also stock 500ml bottles, available both instore and online. For the launch, Euroboozer are targeting UK craft-focussed on-trade, plus speciality and multiple retailers.

After a successful trial period within one of the country’s leading Craft Beer Operators, Frontier Pubs, an official launch party will be held at The Red Lion in Stoke Newington on Wednesday 5th July, as well as a string of launch parties in the North, which are yet to be announced (further information and invites set to follow).

Epitomising the helles lager style, Stiegl Hell is a must-try for all beer lovers, specifically fans of outstanding lagers. With a crystal-clear pale complexion, the bottom-fermented beer is produced with regionally sourced malts and 100% aroma hops.

With an approachable 4.5% ABV, Stiegl Hell has a slender body with soft bready savours, grassy hop notes, some faint sweetness and a mild bitter finish, balanced with subtle acidity and smooth carbonation. In all it’s a crisp, fresh, devilishly drinkable helles lager – absolutely perfect for Summer.

Stiegl Hell is perfect on its own, but also pairs well with food – particularly shellfish, grilled white meats and spicy foods.

On the UK launch of Stiegl Hell, Martyn Railton, MD of Euroboozer, said:

“We’ve been toying with the idea of bringing Stiegl Hell over for a while now, and with so many people falling in love with helles lager, now feels like the perfect time to introduce it to the UK market. I’m sure it will be very popular throughout the summer and beyond, and am very excited for it to finally be available in the UK, both on draught and in 500ml bottles.”

Stiegl Export Manager Thomas Necker adds: “We are very excited for the UK launch of Stiegl Hell and can’t wait to see it being served in bars around the country. It’s elegant, approachable and refreshing: everything a lager should be.”

About Stiegl

First mentioned in written records on 16th June 1492, Stiegl Brauerei in Salzburg, Austria, grew out of a popular beer-making guesthouse called the ‘Bräuhaus an der Gstätten’.

Over the past 531 years, Stiegl has seen immense joy and celebrations but also fires, war and economic turmoil. The brewery persevered, however, and has managed to remain strong, playing a huge role in both Salzburg and Austria’s culture and history. Even Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was known to be a fan of Stiegl’s beers during the 18th century.

Today the brewery is best-known for its multi award-winning Stiegl Goldbräu beer, with Stiegl utilising a wealth of brewing experience combines with some of the most high-tech brewing equipment and processes in Europe. The brewery also benefits from the finest Austrian raw materials, many of which are cultivated in the brewery’s own fields.

About Euroboozer

Started from the back of an old VW Vento in 2003, Euroboozer was set up by beer lover Martyn Railton, initially importing Austrian brands Stiegl, Schremser and Hirter. The company soon branched out across the Atlantic to bring some of the finest US craft brewers to the UK. 20 years on, the VW Vento has gone to be replaced with offices and a warehouse in Hertfordshire with a fleet of vans delivering all over the country.

Euroboozer now supplies some of the finest food and beverage establishments in the country and their brands still include Austria’s Stiegl, Schremser and Hirter, plus a sublime selection of specialist Czech lager brands such as Kutna Hora, New York’s famous Brooklyn Brewery, BlakStoc cider from Austria, and beers from leading British breweries such as DEYA, London Brewing Company, Rooster’s and Verdant, which are mainstays in almost all of the UK’s best craft beer bars and bottle shops.
