Black Sheep were able to open the brewery to BBC TV to film a momentous occasion. That was the first brewing of Best Bitter in cask for what seems to the brewers like eternity – but is actually since March.
The piece, which you can see here, was about the reopening of pubs and preparation by brewers and was aired on 9th June on the One o’clock and Six o’clock News.
Says Jonny Kirkham of Black Sheep Brewery, “At last it feels as though there may be light of the end of the tunnel, but with all the uncertainties, no-one is underestimating the scale of the challenge for pubs and breweries. Still, it feels a really significant and positive step to be brewing a batch of cask Best Bitter again.”
