FULLER’S NAMED BREWER OF THE YEAR BY CASTLE ROCK

Fuller, Smith & Turner P.L.C., the London brewer and premium pub company, has been named Brewer of the Year 2013-14 by Castle Rock Brewery. The award was presented at the 15th Castle Rock annual party held at the Canalhouse on 25 February. The industry awards are chosen by the staff of Castle Rock with the award being presented by the directors.

The accolade is the latest in a succession of awards naming the Fuller’s as a top brewery. Last year, The Good Pub Guide named Fuller’s as its Brewery of the Year for 2014 and Fuller’s also featured in the RateBeer list of the World’s Top 100 Brewers. These awards recognise that Fuller’s continues to go from strength to strength even after nearly 170 years of brewing in Chiswick.

Fuller’s National Account Manager Sean Griffiths, who attended the event to collect the award, commented: “It’s fantastic to attend these events and see that Fuller’s is up there with the world’s great brands. Fuller’s is very much a London brewer and to be recognised by northern breweries like Castle Rock shows how far our great beer and heritage can reach.”

Castle Rock chairman, Geoff Newton, expressed his delight at welcoming so many different brewers to the Canalhouse. He said: “This event is a favourite of many and the number of entries and votes was exceptional this year. The quality of the beers produced by the winners was amazing and our congratulations go to all those who won awards and to everyone for making the event such a success.”
