Greene King, the UK’s leading managed pub company and brewer has once again partnered with Welsh Brewery Tiny Rebel to create the ‘away leg’ cask beer Birra Colada, following the success of Cosmic Pale Ale in 2020.
Birra Colada arrives ahead of summer, offering a fantastically tropical brew and was created by the exceptional craftmanship of its brewing team in Bury St Edmunds.
The name Birra Colada is inspired by the tropical, pineapple, coconut and citrus flavours of the beer and the 4.0% pale ale is hopped four times using Cascade, Mosaic and Sabro hops. The perfect pint for summer!
The exclusive cask ale, which was brewed by Greene King’s Brewing Team, led by Head Brewer Ross O’Hara in conjunction with Tiny Rebel Brewery, has been launched as a seasonal offering and will be available from May until July.
O’Hara said: “As the summer approaches we wanted to create a beer that was different but that could be enjoyed while the sun is shining.
“This tropical brew makes me think of the summer holidays and has a unique pina-colada like freshness and taste not often seen in cask ale. This is achieved by using lactose and oats to give a soft creamy mouthfeel and a whole load of Sabro and Mosaic to bring boatloads of tropical and coconut character to the beer. We love Birra Colada!
“We had a great reception to the first release of this partnership with Cosmic Pale Ale last year and I hope drinkers enjoy this collaboration just as much over the coming months.”
