Your organisations name:
University of Liverpool
Summary:
Dissertation research - pubs, policy and community value
Further details:
My name is Harvey, and I am a fourth-year planning student at the University of Liverpool currently working on my dissertation. My research looks at how effective planning policy is in protecting pubs as community assets, focusing on Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter.
Alongside planning, I’m also interested in how wider industry pressures - including taxation, business rates and government policy - are influencing the future of pubs. I’m aware of the Guild’s work in highlighting these issues and supporting campaigns around pub protection, which has been really relevant to my research.
I just wanted to ask whether anyone within the Guild, or your wider network, might be open to contributing to the study, either by answering a few short questions over email or having a brief chat.
I’d be particularly interested in perspectives on how current policy and economic pressures are affecting pubs, and whether enough is being done to support them.
I appreciate everyone will be busy, so I’m happy to keep things brief and flexible.
Many thanks,
Harvey
