When elections come around the role of the journalist becomes critical. Journalists fact-check political claims, and turn complex policies into information voters can actually use.
More importantly, they hold power to account—challenging politicians, exposing misinformation, and ensuring the public knows what it needs to know.
Without strong journalism, elections risk becoming driven by hype, bias, and falsehoods. With it, voters are better informed, democracy is stronger, and accountability remains front and centre.
This month's highlighted course
The NCTJ's reporting on elections e-learning course has been updated and gives you all the latest information you need to know about reporting on elections ahead of May 7.
