Join multi-award-winning broadcaster and founder of the Craft Beer Channel, Jonny Garrett, for a beginner’s course in making great online videos about beer. This course will cover the simple technical aspects, as well as guidance on editing, storytelling and publishing to the key video platforms.
Why video – a look at the long dwell time, wide audience, low costs, and increasingly easy access that makes video an appealing medium for journalists and brands.
The equipment – a look at the broad range of equipment you can use to get excellent results, with tips of using everything from mobile phones through to professional broadcast equipment. Focus will be on phones and DSLRs.
Editing software – a quick look at free editing software and the two main paid programmes – Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere.
Distribution – a look at the main social platforms and what each can offer in terms of getting your videos out to your audience, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Twitch and YouTube. We’ll also look at live streaming as a tool for brands and journalists.
Storytelling – an introduction to good storytelling for video, editing tips and tricks, and advice on content and structures that work specifically for beer.
