Hobgoblin is getting ready to rock with the news Hertfordshire band, SKREAMER have won the race to play this year’s Bloodstock festival at Catton Park in Derbyshire on 8-11th Aug 2013.
Over 40,000 votes were cast by fans for the competition entitled ‘METAL 2 THE MASSES’, which ran on special Bloodstock-branded Hobgoblin beer bottles. The competition offered new bands the chance to play the New Blood stage at the festival!
Online video submissions came in thick and fast from over 260 bands from around the globe with SKREAMER winning the coveted slot to play this year’s Bloodstock.
The band, who have  also recently championed by Metal Hammer magazine, have been noticed for their ‘eclectic mix of thrash, groove, death and good ol’ heavy to produce a crushing and anthemic take on modern metal that’s seen them sell out venues at an impressive rate and carve a claim as the brightest prospect in the UK underground.’
In exchange for their vote, fans were given the chance to win a range of prizes including Hobgoblin drinking horns and MP3 players – hundreds of prizes were given away as part of the campaign.
Chris Keating, Wychwood’s Marketing Manager said: “Our collaboration with Bloodstock to bring METAL 2 THE MASSES has received an astounding response and further cements Hobgoblin’s association with music – what better way to do this than by giving new bands the opportunity to play what is arguably the best metal festival in the world and give fans the power to influence the music scene?”
As part of its sponsorship of Bloodstock, Hobgoblin will of course be on sale at the festival for revellers to enjoy. The brand has also released a limited edition Bloodstock t-shirts designed by renowned fantasy artist Paul Raymond Gregory, creator of many classic album covers which is available to by at the Wychwood website.
