After 18 months of meticulous restoration following a devastating fire, Hook Norton Brewery is proud to announce the official reopening of its historic 1894 Victorian Stable Block on Saturday, 14th February 2026.
To celebrate the return of these majestic animals to their original home, the brewery is hosting an open day filled with heritage, heavy horses, and hops.
A Valentine’s Day with a Difference
Forget the standard box of chocolates. This Valentine’s Day, visitors are invited to witness a piece of brewing history brought back to life. The event highlights include:
Meet the Shires: Get up close with our magnificent Shire horse - Balmoral, Brigadier, and Cromwell—now settled into their "shiny and new" quarters.
The Experts: Meet the dedicated Shire Horse team, Nicholas Carter and Alyster Mills, to learn about the vital role these horses play in the brewery’s heritage.
Pints with Purpose:Â Enjoy fresh ales served directly from the horsebox bar. In a gesture of gratitude for the heroes who saved the brewery during the blaze, all proceeds from the horsebox bar will be donated to The Fire Fighters Charity.
