Hook Norton’s latest ale set to become the mane attraction

Cotswold Hills based brewery Hook Norton has launched an exciting new ale with attitude: Lion, created with today’s cask ale drinker in mind.

Moreish, well-balanced and medium strength at 4.0% ABV, this bronze beer is brewed using only English ingredients, with a blend of the finest four malts and four hops.

With St. George’s Day approaching, and the British & Irish Lions tour of Australia set to take over pubs in June, Lion is sure to appeal to patriotic punters across the nation.

Deemed the next big thing, Lion is already available across Hook Norton’s estate of 40 pubs in Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire, and will also be available via free trade, Punch, Enterprise and several national brewers.

The launch is being accompanied by a range of Lion-themed POS and support materials, including glassware, drip mats and clothing, complete with catchphrases such as ‘What’s new pussycat?’ and ‘Here kitty kitty.’

Labelled a ‘complex, refreshing and rewarding beer’ by leading beer writer Roger Protz, Lion also comes complete with a distinctive clip (above, right), perfect for capturing the attention of customers.

“We’re delighted to be launching Lion at such an exciting time of the year,” comments Hook Norton Managing Director (Commercial) Adrian Staley. “I’m sure that patriotic punters across the nation will appreciate this refreshing new, lighter beer.”
