  • We have arranged a visit to beer cafe Walhalla in Roeselare which has a big list of quality beers with plenty of lambics and other special beers to choose from.
  • We are visiting top lambic café In de Verzekering Tegen de Grote Dorst (The Insurance Against Great Thirst) who are now offering beers from the newest lambic blender, Raf Souvereyns at Bokkereyder. You’ll get a chance here to try Raf’s blends which the beer world is raving about. Read More.

TOUR 87 TRAPPIST & ABBEY PILGRIMAGE – Thursday 17 August to Tuesday 22 August 2017 – Ghent Only 2 more rooms left on this Tour. We have posted up more details on visits on this Tour including:

  • Taverne “In den Rozenkrans” or ‘The rosary’ café within the walls of the Vlierbeek Abbey at Kessel-Lo near Leuven which offers Westmalle Dubbel and Chimay Tripel on draught and some Abbey beers too.
  • Fabulous new café Heerlijk at Raversijde near Ostende which offers every Trappist beer produced in the world. The owners are passionate about Trappist beers and hunt high and low for obscure Belgian and world-Trappist beer, so here is the place to try rare beers hard to find elsewhere.
  • A tour and beer tasting at Van Steenberge Brewery in Ertvelde for a look at the major new works at this already vast brewery. The new works include a smart new tasting room, Bar Baptist where we will have a taste of their Abbey beer Augustijn. Read More

  • Gaverhopke Brewery in an ancient farmstead in Waregem. Bruno and Gudrun have a brewery, café and keep small animals here. We can have a look at the new brewery and have a taste of their beer, hopefully on the relaxing terrace, with or without their tiny pony, pig and mini-goats.
  • Ferme Brewery Beck in Bailleul which has being making uber-hoppy farmhouse beer Hommelpap since 1994. The beer is unpasteurised, contains no preservatives and is made from barley and hops grown on Mr Beck’s farm. We’ll have a tour of his hop fields, brewery and a taste of his unique beer.
