Launch of New Beer Labels Celebrate Norfolk Icons

Norfolk brewery Woodforde’s has unveiled a range of exciting new beer labels shaped using its famous ‘Wherry sail’ logo along with reflecting various Norfolk scenes and historical events.

This is only the second time in the brewery’s 32 year history that the labelling has been updated and the new Woodforde’s beer bottles will now remain a permanent fixture for the foreseeable future.

Rupert Farquharson, Managing Director of Woodforde’s Norfolk ales comments: “Woodforde’s ales have been part of Norfolk life for over 30 years, partly due to their excellent tastes but also due to being keen on beers that are made mainly from Norfolk ingredients.”

He adds: “Preserving Norfolk heritage and the iconic landmarks which make this county so special has been paramount to the creative process and we hope our customers will enjoy them.”

Rupert explains: “The timing is good because we’re releasing a new beer to the range; Bure Gold, which again, celebrates Norfolk and will feature as a flagship beer in our forthcoming Ale Trail.”

The Woodforde’s Ale Trail is a biennial trail across East Anglia encouraging people to support the region’s pubs. It launches on Father’s Day, Sunday 16th June 2013 and will last until the end of September.

Woodforde’s was voted Brewery Business of the Year at the SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) BeerX Business Awards in March 2013 on the back of its success with previous Ale Trails.

NOTES TO EDITORS

Woodforde’s is located at Woodbastwick, close to the picturesque Norfolk Broads and in its 31 years of brewing has produced a number of patriotic ales (including two Supreme Champion Beers of Britain!) which reflect the rich heritage of Norfolk and wider East Anglia.

As the name suggests, Woodforde’s is proud of its Norfolk roots; the company is named after 18th century bon viveur Parson Woodforde who enjoyed nothing more than good food and fine ale which he generously shared with his parishioners.

Woodforde’s remains true to its original aim of brewing fantastic beer, made only with the finest ingredients including whole flower hops and the best quality Norfolk-grown malted barley. Water comes from Woodforde’s own on-site borehole and was one of the reasons the brewery moved to Woodbastwick back in 1989!
