Local business wins prestigious national award

A Cheshire pub has won acclaim for the success of its business.

The Yew Tree Inn in Bunbury, Cheshire has been named winner of the Best Freehouse for the North West region in the Great British Pub Awards 2015.

The pub is co-owned by Jon Cox and beat off the challenge of numerous pubs in the region to claim the title. The awards are organised by leading pub industry magazine, the Publican’s Morning Advertiser.

Its editor Ed Bedington says: “The award recognises freehouse pubs that have increased profits and driven new business in the past year. The judges commended Lindsey and Jon on their drive and enthusiasm to rescue the pub and place it as a real community pub in the heart of the community.

With a fantastic food offering the pub continues to grow each year The pub will now go forward to the Great British Pub Awards 2015 national final, held at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Thursday, September 10th.It will go head to head with five other regional winners for the UK title ‘Best Freehouse 2015 and also have the opportunity to compete for the overall champions of champions title of ‘Great British Pub of the Year 2015.’
