Lost and Grounded Brewers wins two awards at the Brewers Choice Awards 2022!

The brewery comes away with two first prizes: ‘Beer of the Year’ and ‘Brewery of the Year’ from the annual London event, hosted by The Brewers Journal.

December 12th, 2022 – Lost and Grounded Brewers are thrilled to announce that they have won two prizes at this year’s Brewers Choice Awards, held in London at the Business Design Centre on Thursday 8th December. Hosted by The Brewers Journal, the ceremony and Christmas party ended the first day of exhibitions and talks of the annual Brewers Congress. The awards recognise and celebrate the hard work of breweries throughout the year, across a range of categories which are sponsored by manufacturers and suppliers supporting the congress.

Lost and Grounded Brewers were notified in September that they had been short listed for three categories in this year’s Awards. Submissions were deliberated by a panel of judges who each had knowledge and experience from across all areas of the beer industry, before the winners were announced at the glittering London event. Lost and Grounded came away winning two awards, one for ‘Beer of the Year’ with their Helles, unfiltered lager beer (4.4%) as well as being crowned ‘Brewery of the Year 2022’.

Helles was first introduced into Lost and Grounded’s core range in 2021 to stand alongside their flagship, Keller Pils Hop Bitter Lager Beer. “We brewed Helles to be enjoyed with friends and to remind us of the good things in life,” comments Annie Clements [Co-Founder

and Creative Lead]. “It’s great to see a lager win ‘Beer of the Year 2022’. We’re so proud of  the crisp, clean profile of our Helles and thrilled that the judges agree!” adds Alex Troncoso [Co-Founder].

Since first establishing in 2016, Lost and Grounded set their four core values: Humble, Inclusive, Clever and Raw, which defines and supports the culture of the company. The phrasing of the name, Lost and Grounded ‘Brewers’ is subtle but also very important to the ethos of this independent business. “It’s the people that make Lost and Grounded Brewers, otherwise we’re just a shed filled with stainless steel!” says Alex. When asked about the award for Brewery of the Year, Annie blushes, “We are incredibly proud of our team. We’re so pleased to share these awards with them and we look forward to raising a glass to celebrate with them all!”

About Lost and Grounded Brewers

Lost and Grounded Brewers began in Bristol in July 2016. Known for their delicious flagship lager Keller Pils, they are now stocked amongst some of the most exciting venues in the country and beyond. Lost and Grounded operates a state-of-the-art Brewhouse, complete with a traditional lactic acid propagation plant (traditional German method of adjusting acidity), producing beers with balance, nuance and depth of character. In addition to their delicious Keller Pils, their core range of beers include a wide breadth of styles including Belgian specialty Ales.

The journey first began 25 years ago with Co-Founders Alex and Annie first brewing at home, and then travelling the world with Alex working for some of the best craft brewers across the globe such as Little Creatures Brewing and Camden Town Brewery. The name, Lost and Grounded Brewers, was coined by the co-founders when it was finally time to stop, make beautiful Bristol their home, grow an amazing business, giving them and their team careers and focus.

Whilst they love brewing beautiful beers it is their crew who are the superstars. With almost 40 team members onboard, Lost and Grounded Brewers advocate equality, further education, diversity, and have been a Living Wage Employer since inception.

You can find Lost And Grounded Brewers at 91 Whitby Road BS44AR. The taproom is open each Friday and Saturday.
