BeerX, the UK’s biggest craft brewing event, is just one week away and I would like to personally invite members of the Guild of Beer Writers to apply for a press pass to ensure you get the most out of the event.
‘Industry Day’ is Thursday 17th March, however the Beer Awards take place on Wednesday evening, so please see the schedule below before making your decision on when to attend (press passes available for Weds, Thurs, Fri only).
BeerX runs from the 16th-19th March. There are a number of announcements due to take place at BeerX, which include:
– (Weds 16th) Beer winners announced (6.50-7.50pm): SIBA’s National Beer Awards (judging take’s place on tuesday)
– (Thurs 17th) Beer & Food Matching reception (2-4pm): This invite-only event promises to be popular so members of the guild are advised to email neil.walker@siba.co.uk to be added to the press list.
– (Thurs 17th) Business winners announced (6.20-7.20pm): The SIBA Business Awards, including new craft beer retail categories (judging takes place on tuesday)
– New research revealed: SIBA will be releasing new consumer and industry research on the growth of craft beer in the UK
– Key note speakers including Simon Spillane Director at Brewers of Europe, Steve Hindy Co-founder of Brooklyn Brewery, and Sir Gary Verity CEO of Welcome to Yorkshire – plus many more seminars, speakers and workshops.
– Budget 2016: SIBA are campaigning for a fourth consecutive duty cut. As well as issuing a response our MD Mike benner will be on hand to do interviews following the announcements made by the Government during BeerX
