MOORHOUSE’S TUNES UP FOR MANCHESTER GROWTH

Moorhouse’s, Lancashire’s leading independent brewery, has further strengthened its sales team to grow business across Greater Manchester for the famous ‘Pendle Witches’ ales.

Louie Dunkin has joined as regional sales executive with the award winning Burnley brewery. Previously key accounts & general operations manager with hospitality focused Bliss Supplies, Louie first worked in telesales at the Warrington based company before becoming regional area sales manager for Cheshire and later in Manchester.

The appointment comes soon after Moorhouse’s rolled out the innovative Stray Dog brew in a new initiative with Manchester’s iconic New Order band.

Louie, who lives in Manchester, said: “I am really looking forward to developing business for Moorhouse’s brands with both regular ale enthusiasts and the new wave beer drinkers in Manchester’s vibrant pubs and bars. It is a very exciting time for the brewery to grow in the city and Stray Dog has already been very well received.”

Sales director Mark Boardman said: “This is a key appointment for the brewery. With Louie’s experience and enthusiasm and our very strong brands, now including Stray Dog, we are looking to build long term business relations across the city’s booming hospitality sector.”

Moorhouse’s state-of-the-art brewery now directly supplies several hundred free trade pubs throughout the North of England and reaches outlets nationwide via contracts with major pub companies and leading drinks wholesalers.

Notes to editors: Founded by William Moor house in 1865 as a mineral water business, Moorhouse’s is now Lancashire’s leading independent brewery owned by Manchester businessman Bill Parkinson. The internationally acclaimed ale brands pay tribute to the legend of the ill-fated ‘witches’ of landmark Pendle Hill near Burnley who were tried and executed at Lancaster in 1612.

Moorhouse’s has won many awards including Black Cat (3.4%abv) crowned Supreme Champion  Beer of Britain at the Camra (Campaign for Real Ale) Great British Beer Festival and Pride of Pendle (4.1%abv) proclaimed the Champion Cask Ale title at the BIIA. White Witch (3.9%abv) session strength blonde brew is the latest to join the core portfolio after being introduced as a seasonal ale and is the fastest growing brand. In 2011 a £4.5m ‘tower’ brewery was launched to replace the cramped Victorian premises. With a 100 brewer’s barrels brew length it trebled production capacity to 1,000 barrels a week to make Moorhouse’s ‘the North West’s newest regional brewery’.
