Neptune Brewery brews special beer celebrating owners’ milestone anniversary

Neptune Brewery co-founders Julie and Les O’Grady are marking a significant anniversary this year and decided to celebrate with a special brew that is close to their hearts.

Water of Love is a 9% American Barley Wine brewed to celebrate Julie and Les’ 30th wedding anniversary. As lovers of this bold style, this momentous occasion seemed the perfect opportunity to brew it together. Boasting a complex malt bill and hopped with Simcoe and Azacca, Water of Love has a luscious body with rich caramel and toffee malt flavours, balanced by prominent pine and citrus hop notes, leading to a bitter and warming long finish.

Julie speaks of what Water of Love means to the pair: “We wanted to make something we don’t typically brew, but both enjoy drinking, as a real celebration for the occasion. We thought a big, bold style like American Barley Wine was the perfect signifier of our strength as a couple and mirrors the collective strength we have as a team. We hope this is one that people can sip and take their time to enjoy.”

About Neptune Brewery:

Neptune Brewery has been brewing modern beers, inspired by tradition, in North Liverpool since 2015 and are proudly independent.

Their beers are naturally conditioned and all the “uns” – that’s unfiltered, unpasteurised and unfined – ensuring the greatest flavour in each brew. It also means their beers are vegan friendly as they want as many people as possible to enjoy them.

They brew a core range of popular and accessible beers accompanied by an eclectic and ever-changing rotation of seasonals, rarities and collaborations – available in cask, keg and cans.
