New Members Joining the Guild

A warm welcome to the following new members who have joined the Guild since October. We now number nearly 270 writers, bloggers, broadcasters, photographers, publishers, PRs, marketeers, trainers, tour guides and others in the world of beer and pubs.  If you know anyone who you think would be interested in joining the Guild, please direct them to Membership Secretary Annabel Smith (annabel@beerbelle.co.uk) or to our online application form.

Joining as Full members are:

Douglas Merlo: Mixologist, Beer Sommelier and BJCP Certified Judge. Writes for several Brazilian websites and newspapers about beer culture. Founder of the website / blog / Youtube channel “Expedição Cervejeira” where he shares information about beers and breweries from his travels around the world. The latest project is called “In the old and good times from the Belgian beers”, which consists of searching for old Belgian videos about beer and translating it to Portuguese, making it available for free on Youtube.

Laura Rangeley is an experienced beer communicator who made her first steps into the industry with food and drink blog Mashtun & Meow (mashtunandmeow.co.uk) in 2013. For the past five years, she’s worked as the Office & Communications Manager for Sheffield’s Abbeydale Brewery, handling all outgoing content as well as heading up the brewery’s quality control and sensory analysis panel. Laura is a panellist on the Sheffield Hopcast podcast (https://sheffieldhopcast.co.uk/) who also enjoys taking a lighthearted look at beer via her YouTube Channel, “Does It Shandy?”

Steve Wilkinson: Not so much a beer writer (yet!) but a retired Master Brewer who writes articles about his experiences making and managing beer businesses around the world to share the learning. A retired Fellow of the  Institute of Brewing and Distilling Steve is still active with the Southern section committee of the IBD, and recognises the fundamental importance of beer writers and bloggers in the marketing mix for all beers, breweries, customers and consumers of great beer. https://www.beerguild.co.uk/guild-member/steve-wilkinson/
