A warm welcome to the following new members who have joined the Guild in the last few months. We now number nearly 270 writers, bloggers, broadcasters, photographers, publishers, PRs, marketeers, trainers, tour guides and others in the world of beer and pubs.  If you know anyone who you think would be interested in joining the Guild, please direct them to Membership Secretary Annabel Smith (annabel@beerbelle.co.uk) or to our online application form.

Joining as Full members are:

Lucy Corne: Lucy Corne is the editor of On Tap Magazine, South Africa’s only dedicated beer mag. She writes freelance pieces for beer publications around the world and pens a popular blog documenting the South African beer scene at www.brewmistress.co.za. She has also written two books on beer in South Africa: African Brew and Beer Safari. A certified Cicerone, Lucy has judged in competitions across the world and co-founded the African Beer Cup in 2018 with her husband, Shawn.

Helen Smith:  Full time bartender for the past 2 and half years and founder of Burum Collective (burumcollective.com). Passionate about education and making the drinks industry a friendlier, safer and more equitable space.

Sarah Hyde: Sarah has been working in the beer industry for over eight years and she gained her Institute of Brewing & Distilling “Beer Sommelier” accreditation in 2018. Sarah’s passion for great beer has led her on an exciting career path thus far; heading up the tour and beer education department of one of London’s leading breweries (Meantime Brewing Co.), Sarah welcomed thousands of guests through the door, each of them leaving with a bit more knowledge about the work that goes into every pint of beer.

Making the big move up north to Manchester, Sarah has continued to share her knowledge of all things beer, leading and coordinating tours for UK Brewery Tours in the North West of England and launching the first-ever walking tour of the breweries of Liverpool in 2019.

Sarah is an avid homebrewer and beer judge. In 2020 Sarah launched “A Quick Pint & a Catch-up” – a YouTube channel where she interviews the folk that work in the beer industry. Recently Sarah joined the team at The Rambling Beer Co., providing at-home beer tasting experiences, to a wide range of audiences.
