Don’t hate the Playa
Vedett Extra Playa, the new-to-the-UK 5.2% Belgian tropical lager, is due to be released from late May and across the UK throughout the summer. This is a sun-sensitive beauty; a thirst-quencher dreaming of BBQs, open-air parties and those blissful summer nights.
So spread the sunshine and don’t hate the Playa.
“This is a summer-time pixie,” enthuses Jonas Rosales, Vedett’s UK Brand Manager. “With Extra Playa, Vedett is adding a light, tropical, easy drinking beer to its range. It’s refreshing during the summer months and during that window, a fresh, new addition to the existing Vedett-portfolio.
“This is a tropical lager with a refreshing touch of lemon, like summer in a bottle.
“Playa, as its name suggests, is about the beach – and pumping up the sunshine and getting hot and friendly; so serving it ice cold with a cut of lime in its necklet is a winner. It will not be available on tap; simply in its smart 33cl bottle.”
Extra Playa is a perfect summertime complement to Vedett’s existing range, which includes Extra Pilsner 5.0%, Extra White 4.7% and Extra IPA 5.5% – all brewed by family brewers, Duvel Moortgat of Belgium.
Vedett Export was first brewed and launched in Belgium in 1945 – before being re-named Vedett Pilsner 20 years later. To fit into the Belgian market, in 2003 this beer was re-named Vedett Extra Blond. 18 years on, as a result of growing international demand and expansion into new export markets including China, the UK and the Netherlands, a need has arisen to more clearly communicate that this Vedett is a premium quality Pilsner beer. In 2021, Vedett is again, Extra Pilsner.
