Nirvana Brewery, the UK’s only physical brewery dedicated to alcohol-free beer, have paired up with neighbours and soda producers Square Root for an exciting alcohol-free beer collab to lift spirits this summer.
Teaming Nirvana’s expertise in no-alcohol brews and Square Root’s knowledge on using the best seasonal fruits, the duo are proud to announce the launch of the limited-edition Tayberry Sour.
Kettle-brewed using fresh tayberries sourced from Maynard’s Farm in Sussex, where Square Root purchases fruit for several of its limited edition, seasonal sodas, the 0.5% Tayberry Sour beer gives drinkers pleasant notes of sweet raspberry and blackberry, with a tart and refreshing finish. This unusual berry was chosen with a view to put a new taste out to the market, whilst harnessing a familiar beer style.
Becky Kean, Co-founder at Nirvana Brewery said: “Summer has turned out to be very different for everyone this year, but now that the industry is beginning to reopen again, we’re seeing demand for tasty alcohol-free options rise as consumers are looking to enjoy the rest of their summer without the hangover.
“At 0.5%, the Tayberry Sour gives drinkers a delicious, refreshing beer with the added element of feeling included with friends who may be drinking alcohol. With an alcohol-free beer in their hand, they can enjoy the moment with a fresh head – and we want to show that alcohol-free options can be just as fun, flavoursome and varied as their alcoholic counterparts!.”
Speaking about the collaboration, Robyn Simms, Co-founder of Square Root said: “As a non-drinker myself, I’m incredibly excited to collaborate with our neighbours, Nirvana, to make this complex and fruity alcohol-free beer – it’s exactly the kind of drink I crave on a hot summer’s day!
“It’s also a great opportunity for us to share some of the amazing and unusual fruit we source through our growers with our customers. Being able to bring a
drink like this to market is one of the exciting things about being an independent producer.”
The duo’s tasty summer sour is available for the trade to purchase for a limited time by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
So whether you are sober curious, already a lover of alcohol-free beers or you fancy giving something different to the usual tipple a go this summer, give the Tayberry Sour a try!

About Nirvana Brewery:
We at Nirvana believe there’s nothing quite like sharing a beer; beer brings people together. So whether you’re drinking alcohol, staying sober, or shooting for somewhere in between, Nirvana is the common ground that unites us all.
This is why we created Nirvana. Our Founder Becky, coming from a family of beer lovers, was struggling to find a good alcohol-free beer for her teetotal father to enjoy. Wanting to help him feel included again, Becky decided to take matters into her own hands and create a range to help anyone feel included.
Made with 100% natural ingredients, you can enjoy our fantastic full-flavoured beers to your heart’s content without compromising the good times. Just goes to show that life – and beer – tastes better when you do things your way.
About Square Root:
Square Root was founded in 2012 by partners Ed Taylor and Robyn Simms who met in 2009 during their time at UCL.
Square Root are sodas made only using whole fresh fruit. They make their juices in-house from seasonal ingredients, to create extraordinary drinks with guaranteed quality and zero artificial additives. Every Square Root drink is made by them, from fruit to bottle, with no shortcuts, no additives and no compromises.
Square Root’s core range of sodas include Lemonade, Ginger Beer and Cola.
They also produce a seasonal range of sodas, released in line with the farming seasons, which means they only release them when the specific fruit is at the
height of its quality. The seasonal range includes Citrus Crush, Mandarin, Rhubarb, Cucumber, Strawberry, Elderflower, Raspberry, Blackcurrant, Apple, Pear & Aronia and Bergamot. When they’re gone, they’re gone.
Square Root also have a range of other products, such as their tonics, which include their Hop tonic and Artemisia tonic, and their Non-Alcoholic RTD Cocktails – the Gin & Tonic and the Negroni Spritz.
