Nomadic Beers Brewery Taproom to Re-open this Week

Leeds-based brewery Nomadic Beers are to re-open their brewery taproom from this week.

Regulars to Nomadic’s taproom prior to lockdown will recall the brewery opened up once a month, however from this week, the taproom will now be open every Friday and Saturday.

“As we’re primarily a cask brewery, we lost 100% of our trade overnight when lock down came into effect” said ‘Gaffa’ Katie Marriott, owner of Nomadic Beers.

“To survive we needed to quickly adapt & one of the things we did was to apply for a Premises Licence for the brewery, which would allow us to continue trading by delivering beer directly to consumers.”

“The knock-on effect of this is we are also now able to open our brewery taproom more regularly” finished Katie.

Mike Hampshire, who heads up Bars as part of Nomadic, continues. “We have a big space at the brewery so when the Government guidelines came out about re-opening hospitality venues, we felt we could do something here that would make people feel in a safe environment, whilst still keeping the social element that they want from a bar”

“We’ve been able to work on a limited capacity, with 2m social distancing measures. Which means we have been able to avoid the use of facemasks for staff, and glass shields at the bar to keep a more natural feel.”

“We’ve even configured the tables so people can socialise with adjacent tables whilst still observing Government guidelines.”

“We ran a soft launch event recently and gathered some really positive feedback from those who came. It’s now given us the confidence to open fully to the public”

“We have a fully stocked bar, with plenty of our beer made on-site here, plus cider, wines, spirits and more.”

Nomadic Beers Brewery Taproom can be found in Sheepscar, just a 10-minute walk from Leeds City Centre. The taproom will open every Friday 4pm-9pm and every Saturday 12 noon-8pm.

A booking system is available to reserve space. Booking is not mandatory but is recommended to avoid disappointment.

About Nomadic Beers

Established in 2016, Nomadic Beers is a four-person operation based just outside of Leeds City Centre. It is Gaffa Katie, Head Brewer Ross, Claire and Mike who do everything between them! From brewing, packaging & delivering the beer, to all the office work needed to keep the business running smoothly.

The brewery has a 13 hectolitre (8BBL) brew plant & they are passionate about making hand-crafted, quality beers, with a focus on cask ale. Whilst other breweries can make beer simply at the push of a button, the Nomadic team are involved hands-on throughout the entire process. It means their beers are made with a lot of love & hard work. As a result, they receive great feedback from consumers & trade alike.

Why are they called Nomadic? Brewery founders Katie and Ross have both lived in various different places across the UK and, although both have settled in Leeds now, the name reflects the brewery’s wandering beer styles!
