- Orbit Beers have created another duo of sour beers as part of their limited-edition White Label Series range that explores the more experimental side of their brewing.
- In true Orbit Beers style, the coming together of traditional and modern European-style beers has led to the creation of a classic Leipziger Gose and a more experimental Cola Sour brewed together with Manchester-based ‘Steep Soda Co.’
- The beers will be released together on 22nd April 2024 and will be available at selected stockists in keg and in bottles.
The Beers
March 2024: Orbit Beers White Label Series April Sours will be released on 22nd April 2024; The Cola Sour 4.1% and the Leipziger Gose 4.4%.
Both beers began with the same base containing wheat malt, lager malt, Tettnang hops, and Lallemand WildBrew Helveticus before taking two very different directions. One offers the clean, crisp, flavours of a Leipziger-style Gose with sea salt and coriander seeds. Whereas the other infuses natural sweet cola flavours with gentle citrus sour notes to create something a little more playful.
Both sours showcase our brewer’s ability to manipulate a variety of ingredients and delicately balance flavours to showcase how this style of beer has evolved over time.
Leipziger Gose 4.4% abv.
This traditional beer style of Leipzig, Germany is one of the oldest, original Gose sours dating back to the early 19th century.
A refreshing tartness is balanced with a hint of smooth sweetness from the malt and wheat with clean, bright lime citrus flavours on the palate. Coriander and sea salt add a depth of herbal spice alongside subtle and balanced salinity without overpowering the citrus notes.
Light and effervescent with a puckering sensation that lingers, inviting you to take another sip.
Cola Sour 4.1% abv.
Orbit Beers’ Cola Sour was brewed in collaboration with Steep Soda Co. Based in Manchester, Steep co-founders Liam and Laura produce handcrafted, all-natural sodas with freshly pressed juice and fairtrade ingredients. As big fans of their Cola, the Orbit team were excited to collaborate with Steep to produce a cola-inspired sour beer for the spring.
Infusing Steep Soda’s mastery of natural cola flavours with our traditional sour beer base, the result is a harmonious blend of tartness and sharp citrus intertwined with hints of vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, citrus, and coriander. Evoking fond memories of cola bottle sweets, this refreshing beer offers a journey through familiar yet elevated flavours.

Ethos
Orbit Beers are deeply rooted in European brewing traditions with a modern approach. They take classic styles and make them their own, with an eye for finesse and drinkability.
Orbit’s work is inspired by the ethos of their favourite record labels, who hold music and art above all else. Likewise, Orbit Beers accept no compromises when it comes to making their beer, winning multiple awards for their core range and infamous Tzatziki Sour.
Story
In 2012, Orbit Beers Founder Robert got in his campervan and set off on a journey to visit every single brewery in his native Scotland. It took him from the northernmost island in Shetland to the Outer Hebrides, the Scottish Borders and even his hometown of Dundee.
On a trip to discover great beer, he also discovered great people! And realized that the brewing industry was home to a wonderfully warm and passionate community that he wanted to be a part of.
With an overwhelming desire to start up a brewery of his own, Robert headed back home to South London to find a team of like-minded people who shared his enthusiasm for beer, brewing, and music. Bringing those elements together under the railway arches in Walworth, Orbit Beers was born and began to build its now award-winning portfolio of beers.
Team
Brought together by their passion for good beer, they’re a team of music lovers, vinyl collectors, DJs, and musicians with decades of experience in the brewing industry between them.
They moved into the double railway arch in the heart of Walworth, South London in 2014, and since then, they’ve remained independently owned and all their beers have been brewed and packaged on-site.
