PILEDRIVER – 1 MILLION PINTS SOLD!

The beer named in honour of one of rock legends Status Quo’s most famous albums has been almost as successful as the band – selling over a million pints in just seven months!

“We’re overwhelmed,” said Chris Keating Marketing Manager from Wychwood Brewery who brew the beer. “The reception from the fans has been amazing.  Word has spread about what a great beerPiledriver is, because it’s not just Quo fans who are buying it, beer fans are, too!” Francis Rossi of Quo added, “This is incredible news – we haven’t seen sales figures like that since the 70s!  People seemed to love Piledriver from the moment we launched it, and that success just kept rolling”.

Piledriver is sold exclusively in bottle in Morrison’s supermarkets as well as taking pride of place on bars up and down the country.  Piledriver is available in Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, Belgium with a burgeoning presence in other markets too.

There’s even more good news for Quo fans – the band has a new album out in October. ‘Aquostic (Stripped Bare)’ is a triumphant collection of some of the defining moments of a seminal British rock act.

Status Quo won’t be resting on their laurels though, the band starts a European tour in November, before heading back for a series of major dates around the UK in December.

The launch of the beer came at the start of 2014, which has proved to be another incredibly successful and increasingly busy year for the band; things really are coming to a head for both the Quo and Piledriver!
