Pitt Cue Co celebrates a decade of barbecue, bourbon and beer with at-home food and drink kits

It’s been ten years since Pitt Cue Co brought its tantalising trio of barbecue, bourbon and beer to a food truck on London’s South Bank and kick-started an ongoing city-wide obsession with all things smoked, charred and meaty in the process… To celebrate this momentous milestone, Pitt Cue founder Jamie Berger has worked with three partners to produce a special range of flavour-packed products to enjoy at home.

This limited-edition selection is a greatest hits line-up of some of Pitt Cue’s favourite dishes and drinks – a Pulled Pork Bun Box, Old Fashioned Cocktail Kit, and Anniversary Pale Ale. Everything has been designed with good times in mind, devised to bring the Pitt Cue experience direct to drinkers and diners in all its finger-licking, smoke-infused, whiskey-soaked glory.

The range includes:

–    Pulled Pork Bun Boxes (£28 for two, £45 for four), in collaboration with Restaurant Kits. If there’s one dish that really sums up Pitt Cue’s decade of decadence, it’s this one… Containing shoulder of British rare-breed pork rubbed with a signature blend of herbs and spices and smoked slowly over hardwood, crunchy vinegar slaw, bread and butter pickles, BBQ mayo, and a hot sauce created with former Pitt Cue chef Jack Ellingham, this kit provides everything you need to recreate Pitt Cue’s pulled pork in suitably indulgent style. Berger comments: “The smoking process is so tricky to replicate at home that we have created these Pulled Pork Bun Boxes to celebrate not only the 10th Anniversary of Pitt Cue Co, but also all the pigs we’ve eaten and the shirts we’ve covered in sauce.”

–    Old Fashioned Cocktail Kits, in collaboration with WhistlePig Whiskey. A permanent fixture on the Pitt Cue cocktail menu, it wouldn’t be a Pitt Cue party without a few of these whiskey-based serves. Two kits will be available: The Classic Old Fashioned Kit (£150), comprising one 700ml bottle of Pitt Cue 10th Anniversary 10 Year Old WhistlePig Rye Whiskey, WhistlePig barrel-aged Maple Syrup and Jack Rudy bitters, and The Ultimate Old Fashioned Kit (£375), which swaps out the 700ml bottle for a 3,000ml (yes, that’s right – a double magnum) version instead.

–   Anniversary Pale Ale (£4.50 per bottle, 10% discount on six packs) in collaboration with Beerblefish Brewing Company. From cans of lager served to guests as they waited in the queue to boilermakers in the restaurant itself, beer has always been big news at Pitt Cue. This vibrant and fruity new brew has been created with Michaela Charles – who was in-house brewer at Pitt Cue’s Devonshire Square restaurant – and Beerblefish Brewing Company.

All products are set for release on 20 May and will be available to buy via the Pitt Cue Co website.

About Pitt Cue Co

Pitt Cue Co was founded by Jamie Berger and Tom Adams in a food truck on the South Bank in 2011. It opened its first restaurant premises in 2012 on Soho’s Newburgh Street to critical acclaim. Jamie and Tom sold the business in 2015 and the restaurant moved to a new larger Devonshire Square site in EC2, where it operated until June 2019, when the new company went into administration.

Jamie has since repurchased the intellectual property of the brand and has run a series of pop ups and events in 2019 and 2020.
