Podcasting training course for Guild members

We have already filled half the available places on our Podcasting training course in October, so please book now if you’re interested.

Date: Tuesday 30 October

Time: 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

Venue: The Admiralty, Trafalgar Square, London

Podcasts and online audio are at the heart of the business of digital media. With audiences flocking to the medium in record numbers and radio listening on connected devices at an all time high, there’s never been a better time to learn about and create audio.

This practical workshop, led by former BBC producer Jack Soper, examines the skills required to create audio packages and podcasts.

Attendees will learn how to tailor content for a specific audience, then record, edit and publish it online. They will gain skills in interviewing, script writing and delivery, and the use of music and sound effects.

Participants leave equipped with the editorial and technical knowledge to support their work in creating podcasts, and insight into the latest tools and techniques.

This course is at a ‘beginners-plus’ level, suitable for complete novices and those who have already started to podcast.

Jack Soper is a trainer and producer with over 20 years’ media experience.  He works for the BBC training journalists and content producers in mobile journalism, is a visiting lecturer in media and journalism and produces content for a range of clients.  He won the Gold Sony Radio Academy Award for his audio promotions.

Cost: £50 to Guild members – a subsidised rate for this hands on training course, which includes lunch.  Places are limited, so book early!
