Long-term Guild member Alastair Gilmour has relaunched www.meet-and-drink.co.uk as a monthly magazine-style publication, exactly two years since the demise of his previous venture, Cheers North East.
Meet And Drink has started modestly but expects to build on the first edition which went live on March 1 with a combination of news, reviews, features, personal thoughts on pubs (Hair of the Blog) and what Gilmour calls ‘daft stuff’.
He says: “In its ten years of publication, Cheers grew into a much-loved North East pub institution. The pandemic put paid to advertising and sponsorship opportunities almost overnight in March 2020 and we simply couldn’t continue.
“I’ve missed the challenge of monthly magazines enormously, so Meet And Drink will go some way to satisfying an appetite I’m told is still there.”
