Purity Brewing Toasts an International Beer Challenge Gold Medal for Their Organic Pure Helles

Purity Brewing Company is once again toasting international success with one of the top accolades from this year’s International Beer Challenge for their Organic Pure Helles Lager.

Following the Reinheitsgebot Purity laws of 1516, Purity have taken their brewing expertise to a new level with their Organic and Gluten Free Pure Helles. Using entirely organic ingredients Pure Helles is brewed with the finest English malt, Pilgrim hops from Worcestershire and a blend of classic noble hops from Bavaria, delivering a clean, refreshing finish with that unmistakable Purity character.

Originally produced as a limited run, in partnership with long standing partners, Bayreuther Brauhaus; part of the Maisel’s family. Pure Helles follows a traditional Helles brewing process ensuring this exceptional Bavarian style pale lagered beer, delivers the characteristics of underlying malt sweetness, easy drinkability and refreshment expected from any classic Germanic Helles lager. No stranger to international awards Pure Helles previously has been awarded with Gold at the 2020 and 2021 International Organic Awards.

The International Beer Challenge judges include some of the shrewdest beer brains across Europe – from retailers, importers, publicans, brewers, writers and flavour analysts. Not Judging takes into consideration the appearance, the aroma, the taste and the finish, before discussing their findings with other table members and reaching a consensus on which medal to award. The level of knowledge and experience of the judges is striking and, for a beer to achieve any kind of medal from such exacting critics is a real achievement.

Following hot in the footsteps of Pure Helles, Purity’s JIMBO Very Best Bitter,  Session IPA and  Pure Gold were all awarded silver medals in their respective categories. This is the first award JIMBO has received since its launch in autumn of 2020 following the passing of Purity’s Co-Founder Jim Minkin.  Brewed in celebration of Jim’s life and legacy his has left at Purity, 5p of every can and pint sold has been donated to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund raising over £2000 for the charity in the past year.

Purity Brewing Co. Founder & CEO commented on the recent success, “We are incredibly proud to see any of our beers named the World’s best! It is always a pleasure to see but it is extra special to see Pure Helles win at this year’s International Beer Challenge.

Pure Helles is a beer we are all incredibly proud of and we have seen some amazing growth since its conception. Consumers are looking for authentic premium brands that have a great story behind them and Pure Helles epitomizes that in abundance. Flo and his team have done an incredible job to deliver such a great tasting lager that easily stands up against the other continental and world lagers.”

He added, “I am also incredibly proud and humbled to see JIMBO our Very British Bitter claim its first international award. It’s moments like these where we miss Jim the most, together we built a business on vision to brew only great quality beer, to continue to pick up awards on an international scale ensures JIMBO’s legacy lives on in our beer and culture we have created here at Purity. I know Jim would be incredibly proud of these wins “

For a chance to sample Pure Helles, it will be served at this year’s Christmas German Market in Birmingham, the largest German market outside of Germany and Austria. PureCraft Bar & Kitchen (Purity’s Tap Room based on Waterloo Street in Birmingham) will be serving at their Pop Up Bar in Cathedral Square from Wednesday 17th November.
