Rattler Earns Rock Star Praise With Top Score From Alex James

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is raising a glass this week after music legend and food aficionado Alex James awarded its Rattler Pineapple Cider a full 5 out of 5 in a national cider taste test published in The Sun.

The Blur bassist-turned-cider maker and founder of The Big Feastival sampled a selection of flavoured ciders for the feature, declaring Rattler Pineapple ‘full of fresh pineapple flavour’ and comparing it to the beloved tropical taste of Lilt.

He even suggested it would pair perfectly ‘Hawaiian pizza-style with cheese on toast’, adding a playful nod to its punchy fruit notes and food-friendly finish.

The accolade comes as a welcome moment of celebration for Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm, an independent, family-run producer based near Truro.

Known for its distinctive branding and bold fruit-led flavours, Rattler has long been a favourite in pubs, bars and festivals - and with over 342 million pints of cider sold in the UK last year, the endorsement couldn’t be better timed.

“We’ve always believed that cider should be fun, full-flavoured and rooted in real craftsmanship,” said a spokesperson for Healeys.

“For someone like Alex James - who knows both the art of performance and the importance of good produce - to single out Rattler is a huge credit to our team.”

The review also highlights the changing face of cider in bars and pubs, with premium fruit ciders now making up more than 70% of the fridge market.

At Healeys, it’s not just about keeping up with trends. As a second-generation independent family run business, they champion innovation, with a view to creating long term, sustainable growth.

Whether served over ice, paired with summer bites or simply enjoyed on a sunny afternoon, Rattler Pineapple is clearly hitting the right notes.
