RE-OPENING: The Pigeon In Camberwell Re-Opens For Takeaway Including Craft Beer, Pre-Mixed Cocktails and Wine: Camberwell’s Bottle Shop

Inline with the latest government guidelines, The Pigeon in Camberwell will be reopening from today for takeaway sales of craft beer, pre-mixed cocktails and wine.

The Pigeon has undergone a renovation to ensure that it is best-placed to operate within the guidelines, and includes the addition of new fridges to maximise the variety and amount of takeaway as much as possible.

We are adhering to every piece of the government guidelines whilst operating, only allowing two people in the store at a time, contactless payments and the staff wearing PPE at all times. Only contactless payments will be accepted.

Of the reopening Jack Hobday, Chairman and Co-Director of the brewery Anspach & Hobday, who created The Pigeon said ‘We’d like to thank the council, the community and our landlord for their great support at what has been a difficult time for everyone. We’re really pleased to now be in the position where we can open up, return to a little bit of normality and provide plenty of great beverages to the good people of Camberwell.’

The Pigeon came to Camberwell Church Street in October of 2018 and has since become a neighbourhood purveyor of craft-beer, wine and cocktails. The bar has ten-lines of draught beer, four fridges along with classic board games, darts and a PlayStation One.

Anspach & Hobday in particular are known for their diverse range of beers, inspired by traditional styles remade for the 21st century beer drinker, brewing everything from historic ales and porters to experimental sours and IPAs.

Founded in 2013 by childhood friends Paul Anspach & Jack Hobday, A&H are undergoing rapid growth following a successful round of crowdfunding early in 2019. Anspach & Hobday are best known for their flagship beer, The Porter. The brewery epitomises London craft beer brewing traditional styles made for the modern drinker.
