Independent Brighton brewery Lost Pier Brewing is putting its critically acclaimed 0.5% Nitro Stout in the spotlight this winter, offering dark beer fans and mindful drinkers a decadent option to enjoy in bars or at home throughout Christmas and Dry January.

First introduced to rave reviews and commended at the World Alcohol Free Awards 2026, Lost Pier’s 0.5% Nitro Stout delivers full-bodied luxury without the alcohol. The judges’ tasting note at the awards stated that Nitro is “Quaffable and dry dark beer with a soft white head, light body, and malty nose with toasted and treacle notes on the palate”.

Available in 440ml cans with an internal nitrogen widget (a rarity among independent craft breweries), the beer surges on opening to create a cloud-like head and a silky, velvety mouthfeel. Delivering gentle chocolate layers, soft roasty malts, and a creamy finish, it is intended to be a sumptuous stout, perfect for cosy nights in the pub, and festive celebrations with family and friends.

Dan Gale, Co-founder and Director of Lost Pier Brewing, said: “Brewing an alcohol-free nitro stout was a challenge we were excited to take on. We knew it had to deliver the rich, full flavour and smooth, creamy pour people expect from a great stout, and that gave us the focus to get every detail right. The result is a luxurious beer with a velvety texture and indulgent character that feels especially at home during the festive season. As an independently brewed alternative, it gives people something distinctive to enjoy and share, whether they’re drinking alcohol or not.”

Inspired by life on the Sussex coast, Lost Pier bridges the gap between active outdoor lifestyles and traditional pub culture. The brewery’s alcohol-free range has built a loyal following among local running clubs, sea swimmers, cyclists, and grassroots sports venues, and is the ideal choice for anyone looking for more mindful drinking options.

From Festive Indulgence to Dry January

With around 75% of Lost Pier’s online shop orders driven by its alcohol-free range, this 0.5% Nitro Stout is designed to bridge the gap between Christmas entertaining and Dry January resolutions. The beer was reviewed on Instagram by the founder of Sober Boozers Club, Ben Gibbs, who said “This is the best alcohol free stout in the UK. @lostpierbrewing have knocked it out of the park with this nitro stout. I don’t say so lightly, there have been some incredible stouts come to market over recent years but this one is about as close to perfection as you could hope to get.”

Lost Pier 0.5% Nitro Stout is available via the Lost Pier webshop and at selected independent bottle shops, local sports clubs, and coastal venues across Sussex and beyond. The award-winning stout also features alongside two of Lost Pier’s other 0.5% beers in their newly launched Alcohol-Free Mixed Pack, making it a great option for Christmas gifting or seasonal moderation.

Notes to Editors

About Lost Pier Brewery:

Born in Brighton, Lost Pier is an independent brewery that takes its inspiration from life on the Sussex coast. A little unconventional, proudly multi-style, and not interested in being boxed into one corner of beer. The brewery brews for all occasions, not just the pub - from refreshing alcohol-free beers and beachside lagers to hop-loaded DIPAs and cosy pints of best bitter when the weather turns.

Lost Pier is as much about the people, places, and moments as it is about the beer itself: days by the sea, good food, great pubs, time spent outdoors, and getting together with friends. It is all part of the brewery's identity.

Modern beer, traditional pub culture, and a healthy dose of Brighton’s independent spirit. That’s Lost Pier.
