Bringing something new to the Peckham pub scene, The Greyhound opens this spring as the second of Queen House venue family, joining The Paxton
- Set on the corner of Peckham High and Hill Streets, The Greyhound brings a new type of ‘local’ to the Peckham pub scene
- Craft beers, cocktails, vegan street food, artisan pizza, drag inspired sunday roast, local community partnerships
- The Greyhound joins sibling venue The Paxton, with a third site Royal Oak to open later this year
Proud to be not another gastropub, The Greyhound Peckham will open this spring, joining its sister venue The Paxton (Gypsy Hill) in redefining what a pub should be. The second Queen’s House venue to open in under 18 months, The Greyhound will elevate the typical pub experience with an impressive range of independent craft beers, ales and cocktails, as well as global street food, vegan food menus, artisan pizza, sunday roasts, drag roasts, local radio weekend DJ set takeovers and more. The Greyhound will be a venue for all to meet, eat and enjoy.

Once a traditional gastro pub, The Greyhound will reopen as a cultural hub and space in the heart of Peckham. Offering a day to night experience, the venue offers something for everyone with the traditional pub atmosphere to the panelled dining room, courtyard garden and the basement for a more intimate dining experience.
With beer from carefully selected microbreweries from around the corner to around the country, The Greyhound and its sibling pubs support local suppliers and ale’s of origin, along with a food menu which transports guests around the globe. Rebelling against the usual big brand beers on tap, The Greyhound – and all Queen House venues – is about independents and offers a huge number of craft beer breweries and brewers a business route to the largely closed pub market.
For those looking to mix up their working from home environment, The Greyhound will provide pub co-working spaces fit for purpose at a tenner a day for bottomless coffee/tea, lunch, and a well earned pint of craft beer or cocktail at the end of a hard day.
The Greyhound’s exciting culture and events programme will attract music enthusiasts, theatre lovers or those simply searching for something different. Welcoming DJs, art installations, live acoustic sets – including Skratch’d an ‘open mic’ style performance night to showcase local talent, as well as an exciting mix of theatre, spoken word, live music, dance with a narrative, sketch comedy and more, The Greyhound will set itself apart from the existing Peckham pub scene.
Fashion, art, design and contemporary culture have always been a big part of the Queen’s House DNA. The Greyhound will collaborate with a local artist Anna Sudbina; working within a framework of a very traditional pub interior, she is bringing in a more dynamic and contemporary vibe with her original artworks and curated fashion photography that replaced the images from old pub picture frames. The Peckham Art Instillation will feature four large paintings that Anna created for the Greyhound, continuing the fashion design story introducing a gamification element to the customer experience.
With the new opening comes a huge range of exciting (and delicious) offers and events throughout the week, including:
- 2 for 1: All cocktails from Monday to Friday, 4pm-8pm
- BYOB*: Bring your own buddy for dinner and they get their main on us!
- Beat the Clock: Everyday at 4pm the cost of our artisan pizzas start at £5 and go up by 50p every 15 minutes
- Regular DJ sets throughout the week
Ilselena Johnston will also be performing live at Peckham on Wednesday 30th March with her pop/R&B singles. Ilselena is thrilled to have recently released her debut EP ‘if this is the future’ (2022), gaining placement on various Spotify Playlists and a sold-out show at Notting Hill Arts Club celebrating its launch.
