Beer Writer Emmie Harrison-West names A Hoppy Place’s Advent Calendar the best for Independent Craft Beer.
Emmie says:
“The coronavirus pandemic was hellish for us all, not to mention independent breweries, taprooms, and bottleshops such as A Hoppy Place. The family-run craft bottle shop and tasting room, based in both Maidenhead and Windsor, won 2021’s craft beer retailer of the year from SIBA, the Society of Independent Brewers, so its beer advent calendar should not be missed.
All beers are chosen by a beer sommelier – there’s a mix of Christmas beers, headline imperial stouts and double or triple IPAs, alongside some local and national core and special beers from the 2,000 independent breweries to which the brand has access.
All good things must come to an end though, as A Hoppy Place is only putting together 72 beer advent calendars, with 24 beers each – including many over 10 per cent ABV and “the silliest one” on Christmas Eve. It’s a great way to raise a glass to our local bottle shops, breweries and taprooms this December.”
